Quick Answer

Use the crop value calculator before selling mutated harvests

The GAG2 crop value calculator estimates sell value from an exponential weight formula, a single mutation, friend boost, freshness, and quantity. Add multiple crops to your inventory to estimate the total value of your harvest.

Official, community, guide, estimated, and manual values are labeled separately. Treat community values and estimates as planning notes, not official constants.

Calculation method

The calculator uses an exponential weight formula: base value is scaled by (actual weight / base weight) raised to a configurable exponent, then floored at a minimum value. Each crop can have independent parameters for base weight, base value, minimum value, and weight exponent.

After the base value is computed, it is multiplied by the mutation multiplier, friend boost multiplier, freshness (decay) multiplier, and quantity. The full breakdown is shown in the Calculation Breakdown panel so every step is transparent.

Mutation is a single selection — no stacking. Choose None or one of Gold, Rainbow, Frozen, Electric, Bloodlit, Starstruck, or Aurora. The friend boost adds 10% per friend (up to 7 friends). Freshness applies a decay multiplier when Decayed is selected.

  • Base value uses an exponential weight formula, not a flat price-per-kg.
  • Only one mutation can be selected per crop (no stacking).
  • Friend boost: +10% per friend in server, capped at 7 friends.
  • Freshness: Fresh crops use the full value; Decayed crops apply a decay multiplier.
  • Each result shows data confidence, sample count, sources, and last reviewed date.

How to read the result

A high estimate means the harvest is worth timing. It does not mean the crop is safe to leave exposed. Check large single-harvest crops and premium mutated rows against defense cost before waiting for another event window.

When the confidence badge shows Community, Low, or Unknown, the underlying data has not been verified through controlled in-game testing. Treat those results as planning estimates, not exact values.

  • Use the value result to decide whether a weather window is worth waiting for.
  • Compare very high estimates with the defense planner before staying offline.
  • Check the data confidence and last reviewed date before trusting a result.

Using the inventory

Add multiple crops to your inventory to track the total estimated value of your harvest. Each item stores the input fields (crop, weight, mutation, friends, freshness, quantity) and recalculates using the latest formulas on load.

Export your inventory as JSON for backup, and import it on another device. Imported data is validated and recalculated — calculated values from the file are never trusted directly.

  • Inventory is saved to localStorage and persists across sessions.
  • Edit, duplicate, or delete items from the inventory table or cards.
  • Items with unknown data are excluded from the total and clearly flagged.
  • Export and import support JSON format with schema versioning.

Common estimate mistakes

The most common mistake is treating estimated values as official constants after a game update. Always check the last reviewed date and confidence badge before relying on a result.

When a value looks too high or too low, review the calculation breakdown to see each multiplier step. Pay attention to the freshness setting — decayed crops may have unverified decay data.

Results are estimates based on community-sourced data, not official game constants. Re-check important values after game updates.

When to sell instead of holding

Sell sooner when the crop is exposed, the server is active, or the mutation window is close to ending. Hold longer when the crop row is protected and another high-value weather event is likely to improve the estimate.

If the crop estimate is large enough to change your next seed or crop decision, route the result into defense planning before you leave the plot unattended.

FAQ

Common questions

What is the best use for the Grow a Garden 2 crop value calculator?

Use it before selling or holding a harvest. It helps compare crop weight, quantity, one selected mutation, friend boost, and freshness in one estimate.

Does the calculator use official Grow a Garden 2 values?

It uses site data with visible source labels. Some crop values are confirmed and some are estimated, so the result should not be treated as an official game constant.

Can mutations be selected together?

No. Mutations are single-select only. Choose None or one of Gold, Rainbow, Frozen, Electric, Bloodlit, Starstruck, or Aurora. Mutation stacking is not supported.

What does the Freshness setting do?

Freshness sets the decay state of the crop. Fresh crops use the full value, while Decayed crops apply a decay multiplier that reduces the sell estimate. Use it to compare selling immediately versus holding a crop that may decay before the next window.

When should I use the defense planner with this result?

Use the defense planner when the estimated crop value is high enough that leaving it exposed overnight or during a public-server night cycle would change your risk decision.
