Mutations

All Mutations in Grow a Garden 2

Mutations are the main reason a normal crop can turn into a defend-or-sell decision. This page answers the questions players usually have after seeing a mutated crop: what the mutation is, what multiplier to use, and whether weather or pets change the timing.

The current calculator applies one selected mutation per crop. Select one mutation for each calculation. Mutation effects are not stacked in the current calculator. The released calculator mutations (Gold, Rainbow, Frozen, Electric, Bloodlit, Starstruck and Aurora) are reviewed community assumptions until stronger source data is available.

Official, community, guide, estimated, and manual values are labeled separately. Treat community values and estimates as planning notes, not official constants.

All mutations list

Each mutation has a multiplier and a trigger. Most are tied to weather or event windows. The calculator lets you pick one at a time so you can compare sell timing without mixing multipliers.

Gold mutation appearance

Gold

x15

Planting a Gold Seed can give you a random seed with the gold mutation. Random chance during standard gameplay or during a Goldmoon night event.

Rainbow mutation appearance

Rainbow

x40

Planting a Rainbow Seed. Random chance during standard gameplay or Rainbow Weather.

Frozen mutation appearance

Frozen

x14

Occurs randomly during a Snowfall event.

Electric mutation appearance

Electric

x25

Occurs when lightning strikes active crops during a Lightning Storm.

Bloodlit mutation appearance

Bloodlit

x60

Occurs randomly on crops during a Bloodmoon night event.

Starstruck mutation appearance

Starstruck

x50

Occurs randomly during a Starfall event.

Aurora mutation appearance

Aurora

Mutation multiplier model

The crop value calculator applies the crop's base value, weight, quantity, one selected mutation, friend boost, and freshness. Estimated Value = Crop Weight Scaling × One Mutation Multiplier × Friend Boost × Freshness × Quantity Use the output as a planning estimate rather than an official price table.

For quick comparisons, think of the mutation multiplier as a sell-timing signal. A low multiplier can justify harvesting starter crops now, while high multipliers such as Aurora are more important on expensive, high-weight, or multi-harvest crops.

  • Choose None when the crop has no visible mutation.
  • Choose one mutation at a time — mutation effects are not stacked in the current calculator.
  • Compare weather and event timing by switching the selected mutation.
  • Check defense risk before waiting with a high-multiplier crop in a public server.

Experimental and unreleased mutations

Solarflare, Pizza, Chained, and any other unreleased rows are not available in ordinary calculator options. They stay in an experimental group until availability and multipliers are confirmed.

Unreleased entries are not used by Best Crops, recommendations, or ordinary crop valuation.

Solarflare mutation appearance

Solarflare

Unreleased

Unreleased. Experimental. Not available in the current game build. Multiplier: Unknown.

Pizza mutation appearance

Pizza

Experimental mutation entries are not available in the current game build and should not be treated as confirmed pricing data.

Current calculator rule

Select one mutation for each calculation. Mutation effects are not stacked in the current calculator. The calculator applies at most one mutation multiplier per crop, so players compare one outcome at a time rather than mixing multipliers.

If a future update confirms different behavior, this page and the calculator should be updated together so the guide, formula text, and calculator output stay aligned.

  • Choose None or one of Gold, Rainbow, Frozen, Electric, Bloodlit, Starstruck, or Aurora.
  • Pets and friends are not crop mutations; treat them as separate planning factors.

Do not treat modeled multipliers as confirmed game telemetry. Re-check high-value assumptions after updates or before spending around a rare crop.

Weather tracker for mutations

Use the live tracker when a server weather event appears and your crops are close to ready. Start a local timer, then put the active mutation into the calculator before selling.

Pets and mutation planning

Pets matter for mutation planning when they improve growth pace, premium mutation odds, or the safety of holding a valuable crop. Do not compare pets only by rarity. Compare the role they play in the farming loop.

  • Growth support pets help create more harvest attempts before a weather window closes.
  • Mutation-support pets matter most when expensive crops are already planted or nearly ready.
  • Defense or raid-pressure pets change whether holding a premium crop is worth the risk.

Rainbow seed event notes

Searches for a Rainbow seed event usually mix two ideas: Rainbow as a crop mutation, and limited event seeds that may appear during weather or seasonal windows. Keep those ideas separate when planning value.

If the crop itself is Rainbow, select the Rainbow mutation in the calculator. If the opportunity is event seed stock, track the seed reset and weather window first, then calculate value after the crop exists.

  • Rainbow crop: select the Rainbow mutation in the calculator.
  • Event seed: check seed stock, crop cost, and source status before spending.
  • Weather event: start the local tracker and avoid assuming every event creates Rainbow crops.

Do not present Rainbow event notes as official spawn rules unless the source is confirmed. This page keeps Rainbow mutation math separate from event seed planning.

FAQ

Common questions

What are all mutations in Grow a Garden 2?

This page tracks Gold, Rainbow, Frozen, Electric, Bloodlit, Starstruck and Aurora in the current calculator model.

Can mutations stack in Grow a Garden 2?

No. The calculator applies one selected mutation per crop. Select one mutation for each calculation. Mutation effects are not stacked in the current calculator.

What is the Grow a Garden 2 mutation multiplier?

The current model uses Gold x15, Rainbow x40, Frozen x14, Electric x25, Bloodlit x60, Starstruck x50 and Aurora x90. Each is a single-selection multiplier.

Where can I track weather mutations?

Use the live tracker to start a local weather timer, then send the active mutation into the crop profit calculator before selling.

Do pets affect mutations?

Some pets are useful for mutation planning when they improve growth pace, premium mutation chances, or holding safety. Check the source label before spending around a pet effect.

Is Rainbow seed event the same as Rainbow mutation?

No. Treat Rainbow crop mutation, event seed stock, and weather timing as separate decisions until a confirmed source ties them together.
